Error message: Monitor "Out of Range" - what to do?
If you get the error message "Out of Range" on your monitor, you can do the following.
"Out of Range" Error Message - Monitor does not support resolution
If your monitor displays the error message "Out of Range", the connected device is currently trying to display an image with a resolution that the monitor does not support.
- If you change the resolution for the monitor, a dialog will appear after the change whether you really want to keep the change. A countdown is also counted down - if you do not agree, the previous monitor setting is reactivated after the countdown has ended.
- If you receive the "Out of Range" message during the countdown, you only have to wait 20 seconds to return to the previous settings.
- If the previous setting is not reset after the "Out of Range" message, switch your monitor off and then on again.
- If the problem is still there, you could try a "reset" in the monitor menu.
- You rarely have to connect the monitor to another device for a short time so that the resolution is changed again. You can then reposition the monitor.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to remove scratches on the monitor.
