Error message: Process android.process.acore terminated unexpectedly - what to do?
An annoying and unfortunately common error message on Android is "The process android.process.acore has ended unexpectedly". Here we show you two ways to fix the error.
Clear the cache in Google applications
Important: Before using the solutions, carry out a backup of your smartphone, because with point 5 all contacts are irrevocably deleted.
- Disconnect your cell phone from the internet or switch on flight mode.
- Go to "Settings" and there to "Applications".
- Switch to "All" in the tab. Search for the "Google Services Framework" service here and click on it. Then select "Force stop" and go back to all applications.
- Now search for "Gmail" and select "Force stop" again. Then scroll down a bit and click on "Clear data". Then go back.
- Now go to "Contacts" and click on "Force stop" and "Clear data". You can also do this with "Contacts memory".
- Restart your smartphone. You can now go online and should no longer receive the error message.
Install the latest Android version
Sometimes a simple system update also helps to make the error message disappear.
- Go to "Settings" and there to "Phone Info".
- Click here on "Software Update" and then on "Check for updates now". If a new version is available, install it.
Wiping the Dalvik cache
The Dalvik Cache is the directory tree of all installed apps on your smartphone, so to speak. If there are problems here, error messages can occur, so you should wipe the Dalvik cache.
- First shut down your smartphone completely.
- Now start your Android phone in recovery mode. To do this, press the on button and the volume down button at the same time (for Samsung and other manufacturers, additionally the home button).
- Use the volume keys to navigate to the "Advanced" option.
- Here you can wipe the Dalvik cache.
Remove WhatsApp to fix the error message
WhatsApp is also said to be one of the culprits that can cause the error message.

- Then restart your smartphone.
- If the error has disappeared, you can reinstall WhatsApp.
Reset the device to the factory settings
A radical solution is to reset your smartphone to the factory settings. While all of the data from your android is deleted, the error is also often corrected.
- Go to "Settings" and look for "Backup and reset".
- Here you will find the option "Reset memory". Select this option and click "Reset Phone" to restore the factory settings.
