TV flickers - you can do that
If your TV flickers, there can be several reasons. In this practical tip, we show you possible solutions to solve the problem.
TV flickers: Check cable
A disturbed picture on the TV can be due to the satellite cable or the connection from the receiver to the TV. You can easily check both.
- If your TV has an integrated DVBS tuner and you receive the program via a satellite cable, you should check this connection first. You can check the connection from the TV to the receiver just as easily.
- To do this, try to carefully move the cable between the TV and the receiver and plug it firmly into the respective socket.
- You should also check the cable for breaks, kinks, or other damage.
- Ultimately, you should replace the cable to rule out a problem with the TV, satellite or receiver.
TV flickers - find the problem
To find out what causes the flickering on the TV, you should take the following measures in sequence.
- First turn off the TV and all connected devices.
- Now just connect the TV without any connected devices or cables and switch it on.
- Now access the OSD (interface) of your TV, for example by opening the menu or the channel overview.
- If there is already a flickering, the TV is defective and you should contact the dealer or manufacturer directly to make use of your guarantee if necessary.
- If there is no flickering, the problem is not with the TV and you can continue troubleshooting.
- Now gradually connect more and more devices and cables and check the picture every time.
- If the flickering occurs immediately after connecting a device, it will be due to this device.
- You should then check the cable connection, replace the cable or connect the device to another television to rule out a fault in the device.
