TV no longer works - Technical defect or cable broken?
If your TV stops working, check all cables first. There may be only loose contact. If possible, plug the cables into a similar television. How to rule out that the cable is defective.
- Check whether the socket previously used still receives power. Simply connect another device or try a different socket.
- If your television was running during a thunderstorm and broke due to overvoltage, you can handle the case with your household insurance.
- The capacitors in the power supply unit are a frequent breaking point for televisions. If you are not an experienced craftsman, you should have the testing and exchange carried out by an expert. If you are lucky, you are still in the guarantee period and do not have to pay the costs.
- Make sure that the TV is not exposed to rain or excessive sunlight. Damage can also occur here.
TV no longer works - other causes
The cause of the problem may not be your TV itself. To learn more, try the following tips:
- Try to turn on the TV only without a receiver. If the TV shows something alone, the problem may be with the receiver.
- Some devices have a reset function that you can use to reset them to the factory settings. You can find out whether your television has one and how it works in the respective operating instructions.
- If you start the TV with the remote control, make sure that the way to the receiver is clear. Also change the batteries, as the signal may already be too weak.
