Connect TV to WiFi - how it works
In order for you to be able to enjoy your selected program quickly and easily, you should connect your television to the WLAN. We have summarized how this works and which tips will help you with the setup in our practical tip.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 1
- First turn on your TV and go to the menu with your remote control. To do this, you have to press the menu button on most remote controls. Then switch to the settings there.
- Note: Depending on the device, you have to switch to the 'Setup' area if you cannot find access to the WLAN under the settings. If you cannot find any Internet settings at all, your television set may not be WLAN-compatible. You can find information on this in the user manual.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 2
- Now select the area 'Network' and then 'Network Settings'. However, the terms 'network setup' or 'wireless connections' are also possible. Depending on the device, you must select the appropriate name.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 3
- As soon as you have selected the WLAN settings in the second step, an automatic search for the available networks starts. If this is not the case for you, you should start the search manually. You can find the relevant information quickly under the WLAN settings.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 4
- Now select the WiFi you want to connect your TV to. You can connect many devices to the WLAN in two ways. Often you have to enter the WLAN's PIN or password. However, you can use WPS - provided your router supports this function. To do this, press a connection button on the router while your TV searches for the WLAN. Then the connection is made automatically.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 5
- If you do not want to connect your TV to the WLAN directly via the router, you must now enter the password or PIN. The information is on the back of the router unless you have made changes. Then you have to enter the changed password. Then confirm your entry and the TV connects to the WLAN.
Connect TV to WiFi - Step 6
- After you have connected your TV to the WLAN, you can make further settings in the menu. You can also check the signal strength and, for example, amplify the WLAN signal with a repeater if the connection is weak. You can also delete the WiFi connection if you are not satisfied.
