Stream film from PC to tablet - how it works
If you want to stream a film from your PC to a tablet or smartphone, all you need is the right software. We'll show you how it's done.
Windows: Stream movie on tablet
Copy the film into the "Videos" folder so that the film can be streamed from the PC to the tablet or smartphone. This is usually located under "C: \ User". For the transmission to succeed, both devices must be in the same network.
- Open Windows Media Player, click the "Stream" button at the top and select the "Allow devices to play media automatically" option.
- Follow the further steps of the setup here. Allow all computers access and share at least the category Videos.
- Download the "iMediaShare Personal" app for iOS or Android on your tablet. Start the app, you will find your computer and the shared videos under the category "Local network".
- Note: The videos require a common format. Usually MOV, AVI, MP4 and WMV are recognized. MKV files are not transferred. For conversion, you can use the Freemake Video Converter, for example.
Stream to your tablet with the VLC player
Alternatively, you can also stream with the VLC media player. All you need is the VLC Direct app for Android or the VLC Streamer for iOS.
