Import movies to iTunes
- Unfortunately, iTunes currently only supports a few video formats that you can import directly into iTunes. In addition to the well-known MP4 format, this also includes MOV and M4V files.
- However, if you own films in other formats such as MKV, AVI or WMV, you can convert them with the free video converter "XMedia Recode". On Mac it works with "Handbrake"
- Download "XMedia Recode" and install the program. Then start the converter.
- In the program window, click "File"> "Open file" and select a movie file.
- Select the "MP4" format below.
- Under Output Streamart, set the button for "Video and Audio". Then click on "Add job" in the top right menu.
- Finally, confirm the process by clicking on "Coding". You will find the converted film in the "Videos" folder.
- Please note that this can take a few minutes depending on the video size.
