Find My Mac: Find the lost MacBook
If the beloved MacBook has disappeared, you can find it again with the "Find my Mac" feature from Apple. However, you have to activate some settings in advance so that you can use the tool in the event of a crisis.
Activate the "Find my Mac" tool
- First, turn on the "Find my Mac" option in the "iCloud" system setting.
- Then go to the "Security" system setting.
- Finally, activate the location services in the "Privacy" area.
Find the fleeting Mac again
When the worst case arrives, you can search either on the iCloud website or via the "Find my iPhone" app.
- If your Mac is connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can view the location on a map.
- If your MacBook is connected to the Internet, you can have the hard drive deleted.
- You can also have a sound signal, which of course is only worthwhile if you are in the immediate vicinity of your Mac.
