FinFisher FinSpy is a professional espionage software that is used by various countries worldwide to fight crime. The following steps are for experienced users.
- To check whether FinFisher FinSpy has sneaked into your computer, you need the free Detect tool.
- Do not run the program until you have restarted your computer, deactivated your anti-virus software and closed all other programs.
- Even if the detector strikes, in many cases it is a false alarm. Infection is usually considered relatively unlikely. However, if you are sure that this is not the case, follow the steps in the next paragraph.
PC infected: Remove FinFisher FinSpy from the computer

- Since FinFisher FinSpy is professional spy software, you cannot simply remove the tool from your computer.
- You should completely format and repartition your hard drive.
- You should change all of your passwords over an external network that is not connected to your home network. It is also recommended to reset and change WLAN and other network passwords, since FinFisher FinSpy has already cracked them in many cases when the Trojan is on the PC.
- All external devices that have recently been connected to the PC should also be formatted. This is especially true for hard drives.
- Then reinstall Windows and set up your PC.
