Fire tablet: turn Alexa off - how it works
Here we show you how to switch off Amazon's smart assistant Alexa on your Fire Tablet.
Disable Alexa on the Fire Tablet
With the update to software version 5.6.0.0, the intelligent voice assistant Alexa is also available to customers on the Fire Tablet (from the 4th generation). You can turn it off in three easy steps.
- Swipe from the top of the tablet to the center. A short menu opens.
- Touch Settings The symbol for this is the small gear. The corresponding menu opens.
- Now touch the "Alexa" point and slide the controller on the right side of the screen into the desired position. If it is set to the left, it appears gray and Alexa is deactivated. If you moved it to the right with your finger, it is highlighted in yellow and the voice assistant is online.
- If the "Alexa" option does not appear in the "Settings" menu, the voice assistant can be found in the "Device options". So open the "Device Options" in the "Settings" menu and deactivate Alexa there as described above.
