Fire TV: Install Kodi (XBMC Installer) - so it'll work

XBMC (formerly Kodi) allows you to access a network hard drive from Fire TV. We'll show you how to install the software.
Step 1: prepare Fire TV for Kodi (XBMC)
- Start up your TV and Fire TV. Select the "Settings" there.
- In the "Device" category you will now find the "Developer Options".
- Activate the "ADB Debugging" option here and return to the "Device" category.
- Under "Info" and "Network" you will find the IP address of your Fire TV.
- Write down the IP address or take a picture of it.
Step 2: download files for XBMC
- Download the Amazon FireTV XBMC installer and open the ZIP file.
- Extract the ZIP file so that you can find the "FireTV XBMC" folder on your desktop.
- Download the latest version of Kodi for Fire TV in the Android ARM version (see picture).
- Open the "FireTV XBMC" folder and the "XBMC" folder it contains. Paste the file you just downloaded here.
Step 3: Install XBMC (Kodi) on the PC
- If you open the "Install XBMC.bat" file in the "FireTV XBMC" folder, a small window opens.
- Enter a "1" here and confirm your entry with the Enter key.
- Then enter the noted IP address of the Fire TV and confirm it with "Enter". The tool is then installed.
Step 4: Complete installation of XBMC on Fire TV
- Open the "Settings" and "Applications" categories on the Fire TV again.
- Select "XBMC" from the list and then the option "Launch Application".
- XBMC Kodi has now been successfully installed on your Amazon Fire TV.
