Fire TV Stick: turn Alexa off - is that possible?
Alexa offers a variety of more or less useful functions on the Amazon Fire TV Stick. This practical tip shows you whether and how you can switch Alexa off.
Switch off Alexa on the Fire TV Stick - is that possible?
- Alexa is already pre-programmed on the new Amazon Fire TV Stick. On the old Fire TV Stick, you only get Alexa with the latest software update and an additional voice remote control.
- If you accidentally tap the Alexa button or you don't want to feed Amazon's octopus with information, switching off Alexa seems the most sensible solution. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible.
- If Alexa is not activated and fed with commands, no data is collected. However, Alexa is an integral part of the software and therefore cannot be deactivated on the Fire TV Stick.
- Note: Alexa doesn't make as much sense on the Fire TV Stick as on the Amazon Echo. With the Amazon Alexa app for iOS and the Alexa app for Android, you can use significantly more functions.
In the next practical tip, we will show you the most useful voice commands for Alexa.
