Fire TV Stick: change resolution - you need to know
If your Fire TV Stick is jerky or the display doesn't look good, changing the resolution can fix the problem. You can find out how this works in this practical tip.
Change the resolution on the Fire TV Stick
If the image of the Fire TV Stick is flickering or distorted, the streaming stick in many cases transmits an incorrect resolution or frequency to the television.
- This basically has nothing to do with the video quality when streaming - it's just about the resolution at which the Fire TV Stick passes the picture on to your TV.
- If the problem described above occurs, press the Confirm key, the right circle key, the Back key and the Rewind key on the remote control of the Fire TV Stick at the same time. Hold down this key combination for about ten seconds.
- Now a menu opens in which you can select different modes for resolution and frame rate. Make the selection with "Use current resolution".
- Unfortunately, this trick only works with the newer Fire TV sticks. The first edition of the streaming stick does not have this menu.
