Fire TV Stick is not recognized - you can do that
If your TV doesn't recognize the Amazon Fire TV Stick, there can be several reasons. We'll explain what you can do to fix the problem.
If the Fire TV Stick is not recognized, your TV may be incompatible
The Amazon Fire TV Stick may not be recognized because you may not have a compatible TV.
- Fire TV Sticks are compatible with HD TVs and Ultra HD TVs.
- The TV must have an HDMI input port to activate the stick.
Manual reboot
Have you been using the Amazon Fire TV Stick for a long time and it just doesn't work today? Try a manual reboot.
- To do this, simply unplug the stick and wait 1-2 minutes.
- Then plug it back into the connector provided.
- You should now be able to use all Fire TV services again.
First aid: Change the program with the home button
A change of program often helps to make the stick work properly again.
- If your Amazon Fire TV Stick doesn't start, switch to a different program. Press the home button on your Amazon remote control, this is the button with the small house on it.
- This usually reactivates the functions of the TV stick and you can use it as normal.
No Internet? Then the TV stick will not work.
Check your internet connection.
- The Fire TV Stick needs an active WiFi connection to stream as usual.
- It is best to check the function of your router or to switch it off briefly.
- After switching on the router again, the connection will re-establish itself in a few minutes and the TV Stick can start as usual.
