Firefox: Exit Safe Mode
If you can no longer exit Safe Mode in Firefox, this can have several reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Exit Safe Firefox Mode
Normally, Safe Mode exits as soon as you close Firefox. If this is not the case, the following steps will help you:
- Task Manager: If you cannot close Firefox properly, you should try it manually. Use the key combination [CTRL] + [ALT] + [Esc] to start the Task Manager. You can then exit "firefox.exe" under the "Processes" category (see image).
- Restart: If that doesn't help either, you should simply restart your computer. Other Firefox files may have hung up.
- Shortcut: Under certain circumstances Firefox is configured so that it always starts in safe mode. In this case you have to edit the link. Find it on your desktop or taskbar and right click on it. The "Properties" will take you to the "Target" item. Remove - if available - the addition "- safe mode".
- After these three steps at the latest, you will find Firefox in normal mode the next time you start it.
We will show you how to speed up the start of Firefox in the next practical tip.
