Sync Firefox across devices
If you use Firefox on multiple devices, you can synchronize browsers with each other. We'll show you how it's done.
Step 1: set up Firefox Sync
In order for the different devices to synchronize, you need a Firefox account.
- Click on the menu button at the top right and select the option "Log in to sync" below.
- A new tab now opens. Click the "Register" button here.
- Enter your email address, a password and a year of birth.
- Activate the option "Select what should be synchronized" and click on the "Login" button.
- You will now receive an email with the confirmation link that you click on. Your account is now set up.
- Firefox then asks which settings are to be synchronized. Make your selection and click the "Apply" button.
Step 2: Set up Firefox Sync on another computer
You can also set up Firefox sync on other computers with Firefox. This allows you to continue working on multiple computers.
- As before, click on the menu button and select the option "Log in to sync".
- At the bottom of the "Register" button you will find the link "Do you already have an account? Register.".
- You can now log in to your Firefox account here. The browser is then synchronized.
- You can also use the "Manage" button to select which data is to be synchronized.
Step 3: add mobile devices to Firefox-Sync
Now that you've set up your Firefox sync account, you can now add mobile devices to the account.
- Open the Firefox browser on your Android smartphone and open the menu: Depending on the phone model, you can find the menu by tapping three dots at the top right or at the bottom of your screen with three horizontal lines.
- Choose Settings> Sync> Introduction. Since you've already created a sync account, tap "Do you already have an account? Sign in."
- After you have entered your login data and confirmed with "Login", Firefox begins to synchronize your data.
To have even more of the sync between your Firefox browsers, set your Firefox as the default browser in Android.
