Firefox: create backup - how it works
This practical tip shows you how to backup your Firefox data and settings.
Backup Firefox data
- Your bookmarks, saved passwords and other data and settings are saved in a folder called "Profiles" on your PC. You can find this under C: \ Users \\ AppData \ Roaming \ Mozilla \ Firefox.
- You can reach the folder a bit easier if you enter about: support in Firefox and click on "Show folder" under "Profile folder".
- If you want to save your data, simply copy the "Profiles" folder to an external storage medium, such as a USB stick.
- Alternatively, the backup can also be carried out using various tools or add-ons, such as the Firefox Environment Backup Extension.
- If you also want to backup other Mozilla programs, we recommend the freeware MozBackup. The tool is available for free download from CHIP Online.
In the next practical tip we will show you how you can deactivate the automatic password storage in Firefox.
