Firefox & Co: Save websites as PDF
Websites can be easily downloaded and saved as PDF - whether with Firefox, Chrome or another browser. We'll explain how to do it.
Firefox: add-on for PDF download
While Mac users can save websites directly as PDF from the Firefox browser, Windows and Linux users need an add-on. To install the extension:
- Click the Firefox menu (icon with three horizontal bars) in the upper right corner.
- Select "Add-ons"
- Search for "PDF" using the search bar at the top right.
- Click on "Install" in the "PDF Mage" list.
- Restart the browser once the download is complete.
- You will then find a small symbol to the right of the browser line. If you click on this, a PDF download will start automatically from the open page.
Website as PDF with Google Chrome
In Chrome you don't need an additional add-on to save as PDF:
- Open the desired page and start the print menu with the key combination [Ctrl] + [P].
- Click on "Change" under "Destination" and select "Save as PDF".
- Now click on "Save" and select the desired location on your PC.
Save web pages in Internet Explorer as PDF
- Install the PDFCreator.
- Visit any website in Internet Explorer and use the key combination [Ctrl] + [P] to open the print menu.
- Select the "PDFCreator" as a printer and save the document on your PC.
