Remove Firefox helper - Here's how
Firefox has installed the Search Helper Extension in an update, which has a security vulnerability and was thus blocked. However, you cannot remove the add-on as usual using the settings, we have the instructions for you.
Remove Search Helper Extension in Firefox
You can uninstall the add-on by changing to the directory of the add-on:
- To do this, go to the "Program Files" or "Programs" using your Explorer.
- There you will find the "Search Enhancement Pack" under "Microsoft". Navigate to "Search Helper" and delete the "firefoxextension" file.
- If you cannot find the Search Helper in Explorer, look for the "firefoxextension" file in the local disk.
- Depending on the operating system, you can also use the Windows search. In the case of Windows 7, click on your Windows start icon and type "firefoxextension". Right-click on the found file and select "Open file path" (in Windows 8 it says "Open storage location").
- Make sure that the file is in the so-called "Search Helper" and that it is the file you are looking for. Delete the file.
