Firefox: Deactivate the tile function - how it works
Firefox has been displaying advertisements on the homepage since an update. By deactivating the tile function, you can bypass the advertisements - so-called enhanced tiles. You can find out how to do this in this practical tip.
Deactivate tile function: Switch off enhanced tiles in the Firefox browser
The advertisements will be shown when you use Firefox for the first time or when you have deleted the history. Otherwise, your most popular websites will still appear. However, you can quickly switch off the controversial enhanced tiles.
- Start Firefox.
- Use the "+" symbol to open a new tab.
- In the upper right corner you will find a cog.
- As soon as you click this, a menu appears. Select the "Empty" item here.
- After that, you will no longer see any advertisements. Unfortunately, you also have to do without displaying the most visited websites.
