Sync Firefox with Chrome - Here's how
You can synchronize Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox with the existing data import functions. We show you how you can transfer the data from one browser to the other.
Import from Firefox to Chrome
The "Google Chrome Browser" already has all the functions to transfer your data with just a few clicks.
- Start Chrome and click on the settings at the top right, the symbol with the 3 dashes.
- Under "Bookmarks" select the function "Import bookmarks and settings".
- In the new window you can select the browser from which data is to be imported. Every compatible, installed browser is listed here. In the fields below you can also choose whether other data such as browser history, settings and passwords should also be imported.
Import from Chrome to Firefox
"Mozilla Firefox" also has a function for importing data. However, this is more hidden than in the Chrome browser.
- Start Firefox and open the bookmark manager. You can access this via the list symbol at the top right next to the star. Select "Manage bookmarks" there.
- In the so-called library you can select the menu item "Import data from another browser ..." by clicking on the star.
- You have the choice of which browser you want to import data from. The wizard will also ask you for other data that can be transferred in the following steps.
This practical tip is based on Chrome version 35.0.1916.153 and Firefox version 30. In another practical tip, we will present a comparison of Chrome and Firefox.
