Firefox jerky - can you do that?
If Firefox gets stuck or jerky while surfing, then that's no reason to reinstall. Incompatible add-ons are often the source of errors. We will show you what to do in such a case.
Firefox jerky: check add-ons
Mozialla Firefox regularly updates. Unfortunately, some add-ons cannot be kept up to date so quickly and are then no longer compatible with the new version of Firefox. Although these add-ons are deactivated, they can still cause problems.
- Open the menu at the top right and click on "Add-ons".
- Select "Extensions" from the list on the left.
- Here you can see at a glance whether one or more add-ons are possibly not compatible.
Firefox: Update add-ons
You can update incompatible add-ons if a new version is available.
- Click on the settings icon in the top right corner and select "Check for update". Also activate the "Update add-ons automatically" option. If updates are available, Firefox will install them. After a restart, the problem is resolved.
- If Firefox does not find an update, you should look for one on the developer's website and install it manually.
- If there is no update, you should uninstall the add-on and possibly look for an alternative.
