Firefox: Mute tab - how it works
Since Firefox version 42, you can mute individual tabs in the browser. We explain how this works in this guide.
Mute individual tabs in Firefox
- Move the mouse pointer to the loudspeaker symbol, which is displayed at the top of the tab overview for the respective tab. It appears as soon as a sound / video file is played.
- Click the icon to mute the tab. The sound can be reactivated in the same way.
- For further functions or with older versions of Firefox, we recommend the free add-on Mute Tab.
