Firefox: Read website offline - how it works
You can save websites in Firefox so that you can later read them offline. We'll show you how it's done.
Archive websites with the ScrapBook add-on
If you want to create a comprehensive image of the website, the add-on "ScrapBook" will help you.
- Install "ScrapBook" and then restart Firefox.
- Then right-click in the text area of the desired website.
- In the context menu, select the entry "Archive page as ...".
- Now you can specify exactly what you want to see when you are offline. For example, you can choose to save images or linked websites.
- To call up the saved articles, press [Alt] + [K], which opens the ScrapBook sidebar. Now select the article from the list.
Save website with Firefox function
Instead, you can also save the website using the save dialog in Firefox.
- Go to the desired website and press [CTRL] + [S].
- Now select the storage location and use "File type" to determine whether only the website itself or embedded graphics should be saved.
- Then call up the created HTML file as usual with a browser and now have access to the file even without Internet.
