Asus router: Important information on firmware upgrade
- The firmware installation process can take a few minutes. In the meantime, the connection to the Internet is cut. Do not access the router again until you are connected to the Internet again.
- If the process takes longer, be patient and do not pull the plug out of the router. In most cases, the process should take well under 10 minutes.
- Asus recommends resetting the router to the default settings after the firmware upgrade. To do this, press and hold the small reset button on the back of the router for 5 seconds. You can then set up the router again using the above IP address.
