Perform firmware update at Telekom Router: how it works
For security reasons, you should always carry out the firmware update for Telekom routers when a new update is available. Among other things, Telekom closes major security gaps in the router. Our instructions show you the procedure for all Deutsche Telekom routers. If you scroll down a bit, you will also find your device.
Firmware update for Telekom routers: Speedport
The firmware of the Speedport router is updated automatically. You usually have to activate this once:
- Enter "speedport.ip" in the address line of the browser and press [Enter].
- Now enter your device password, which is located under the router.
- Now go to "Settings" in the menu and then to "EasySupport". In older models you will find the "EasySupport" under "Administration"> "Utilities".
- Now check whether "EasySupport" is activated, otherwise click on "On".
- As soon as a firmware update is available, the router downloads it and carries out the update independently. You don't have to do anything else.
Firmware update for Telekom routers: Speedlink
- For Speedlink routers, you can find the latest firmware for each model on the Telekom download page.
- Download the appropriate firmware and then open "speedport.ip" in the browser.
- Now you have to register. When logging in for the first time, the user name is "admin", the device password can be found under the router.
- Now select the entry "Expert view" in the top left and then open "System"> "Firmware update".
- With "Browse" you can now call up and upload the downloaded file.
Firmware update for Telekom routers: Digibox (business customers)
- For the firmware update of the digitization box (digibox), enter "192.168.2.1" in the browser and log on.
- Then click on "Save configuration" and "OK" and then select "System software update".
- Confirm this again with "Update" and start the update by clicking on "Start"
- Now wait until the router has downloaded and installed the latest version. Then you can restart the system with "Reboot".
