Remove fisheye effect: correct post-processing of photos
In this practical tip, we will show you how to use Photoshop to remove the fisheye effect on your images.
Remove fisheye effect with Photoshop
In a picture with a fisheye effect, falling lines are shown curved in reality at the edge of the lens. Even if this design element is characteristic of many action cams and the image is given a certain dynamic, the effect falsifies reality. In this photo editing tutorial, we'll explain how to use Photoshop to remove the fisheye effect.
- Start the photo editor "Photoshop" and open your photo with the fisheye effect that is to be removed.
- First, duplicate your image using the shortcut "Ctrl" + "J" or "Cmd" + "J" to create a backup. Hide the lower level.
- Select your upper level and transform your image using "Ctrl" + "T".
- Right-click in the framed photo to select the "Deform" editing option. An even grid is placed on your picture.
- You can carefully remove the line curvatures of the fisheye effect using the corners of the grid. With "Ctrl" + "Z" you can undo individual work steps. Note: The fisheye effect of your image cannot be completely removed, but only corrected.
