Fix common problems with Fitbit Charge 3: restart
The tracker no longer counts steps, the data is not synchronized in the app or the device simply freezes. The Fitbit Charge 3 can have various technical problems. Many of them can be removed by a simple restart:
- First, remove the Charge 3 from your wrist and connect it to a power source using the charging cable. Make sure that the recess for the side button on the charging cable is located exactly above the side button.
- Once the tracker is in charging mode, press and hold the side button for about eight seconds.
- You only release the button when you see a smiley face on the display. Then the restart begins.
Clear and reset tracker
With persistent problems with the Fitbit Charge 3, sometimes only resetting can help. Unfortunately, this deletes all data and you have to pair the device with your smartphone again. Here's the best way to fix Charge 3 issues:
- Open the Fitbit website in your browser and click on "Register" in the top right corner.
- Now press the gear icon at the top to open the settings.
- Click on your Charge 3.
- Now choose "Remove this batch 3 from your account?" and confirm the query.
- The Charge 3 is now completely reset and must be paired the next time it is switched on. As part of this, you should also uninstall the smartphone app and then download it again.
