Clean tiles in the bathroom - with vinegar against mold
The damp climate in the bathroom is an ideal breeding ground for mold. In addition to proper heating and ventilation, it helps to clean the affected surfaces.
- Mold can be removed from smooth surfaces with vinegar. Put some vinegar on a swab and wipe over the affected area. If necessary, repeat the process with a fresh rag.
- Vinegar essence is even more effective. Always wear gloves when using. The acidity is very high.
- Discard the cleaning rags and gloves that you used when cleaning after use. This will prevent mold spores from spreading again in the bathroom.
- On calcareous substrates, vinegar and vinegar essence do not work against mold in the bathroom. The mold spores cannot be removed with it either.
Remove mold - clean bathroom tiles with alcohol
Silicone and tile joints in particular are susceptible to mold, just like the corner of the shower area. After showering, dry the damp walls and make sure that the moisture is drawn out. You can remove the mold with the following means:
- Alcohol with 70-80 vol .-% helps to get rid of mold effectively. Ethanol or isopropanol are suitable for cleaning the affected joints.
- Ventilate the room well if you have cleaned surfaces in the bathroom with alcohol as a cleaning agent. Also use only a small amount of ethanol or isopropanol to clean the bathroom tiles and joints affected by mold.
- Use this method only on small infested areas. If there is a large amount of mold, you may have to replace the affected areas. Then rub the wall under the removed silicone joints with ethyl alcohol.
- High-proof alcohol is a good alternative to anti-mold agents. If you want to use a special spray, make sure that it does not contain chlorine bleach. This strains the lungs and is harmful to health.
