Flipboard: Reduce data usage - you can do that
Flipboard really makes a difference as a colorful news reader on the smartphone. You can reduce data usage with the following tips:
Reduce data usage of the flipboard app
Flipboard itself offers the option of reducing data usage. That's how it's done:
- Scroll through your magazines all the way to the bottom and tap the gear icon for the settings.
- A little further down in the settings you will find the menu item "Reduce data usage".
- Here you have three options to choose from. If you want to reduce data usage, you can, for example, only have images loaded by request. Another option is to have Flipboard charged only in the WiFi network. To do this, select "Do not use cell phone data".
Limit background data from flipboard
Another way to reduce flipboard data usage is to limit background data. Here's how it works:
- Select the data usage in the settings of your smartphone.
- When using mobile data, scroll down to the flipboard app and tap on it.
- Check the box below "Limit background data" in the checkbox. however, note that your flipboard magazines are not updated in this way on the mobile data network.
