Flixbus leaves earlier: You can do that
If a Flixbus leaves prematurely, you may be standing there without any additional transportation. We have researched for you what you can do in such a case.
Punctual Flixbus: passenger left behind
As a rule, consumers are annoyed about delays in buses and trains. However, it can also happen that a bus leaves too early.
- This is what happened to a customer of the long-distance bus company Flixbus: 20 minutes before the planned departure she was there and put her hand luggage on the bus. She informed the driver that she wanted to go to the toilet for a moment.
- When the customer came back five minutes later, the bus was already gone - 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time: the hand luggage was on the trip, it was at the bus station.
Flixbus leaves earlier: You have these rights
Passenger rights in the event of bus and train delays are regulated by law. The passenger is entitled to punctuality.
- The legislature apparently did not expect punctuality, i.e. early departure. In any case, there is no explicit law for this.
- Nevertheless, you have rights: If you are on time at the place of departure and the bus has left too early, this is legally equivalent to a cancellation of the trip - the trip does not take place.
- In the event of a cancellation or a delay of more than two hours, you as a passenger are entitled to have the fare replaced. If you have to switch to another mode of transport, you can at least partially reimburse the costs for this.
- If your hand luggage is lost - as in the case described by us - you are not entitled to compensation or compensation. The passenger is responsible for the hand luggage. However, the company is responsible for checked baggage.
- Important to know: In the Flixbus General Terms and Conditions, passengers are advised "to be at the departure point 15 minutes before departure".
