Customize slide master in PowerPoint 2010
The slide master in Powerpoint 2010 can save a lot of effort and, above all, time. The slide master is the top slide in the slide hierarchy of your presentation, in which information about the slide layout and design such as background, font color and effects is saved. In this way you can make universal changes to the format, which are then also transferred to newly created slides in the presentation.
How do I customize the slide master in PowerPoint 2010?
The entire appearance of the presentation is based on the master slide. Therefore, it is important to work in the slide master view while creating or editing layouts:
- Select the "View" tab in the menu bar and then go to "Slide Master" in the "Master View" group (see picture).
- In the thumbnail view, you can recognize the slide master by the fact that it is the largest slide.
- If you click on the slide master in the thumbnail view on the left, you will see a preview of the slide with the assigned standard layouts that you can edit.
Tip: We show you here how you can automatically create a slide table of contents.
