Install fonts and fonts on Mac
Would you like to install new fonts and fonts on your Mac? Nothing easier than that!
Install fonts and fonts with just a double click
The easiest way to install a new font on your Mac is to open the font file directly.
- Find the font in the Finder and open it with a double click.
- Now you see a preview window that shows a selection of the characters of the selected font. Select the font style from the drop-down menu - this only affects the preview, but not the installation.
- In the lower left corner of the window you can see the status of the font - in our case "Not installed".
- You can change this by clicking on "Install" in the lower right corner. Finished!
Install fonts and fonts conveniently via the font collection
A slightly more convenient way to install new fonts is through the font collection. Here are a few additional options.
- Open the font collection. To do this, go to the program folder and double-click on Font Collection. Alternatively, you can open the font collection using the launchpad.
- In the font collection, click on the little plus under the "Fonts" column (see figure).
- A dialog box opens in which you select the desired font and install it with a click on "Open". Finished!
Manage fonts and fonts in the font collection
With the font collection, you have a tool at hand that can do more than display and install fonts. Here you organize fonts in groups or make certain fonts available to restricted user groups - and of course installed fonts can also be deleted here.
- To keep track of many fonts, it is best to group your fonts in groups. Simply click on the little plus in the "Collection" column, enter group names and add fonts from the "Fonts" column using drag-and-drop.
- Depending on whether you selected "Computer" or one of the users in the "Collection" column in the upper area, the relevant font will be installed for all or only the selected user. This is how you make certain fonts available to the various user groups.
- You can use the font collection to remove the fonts as quickly as you have installed them. Simply select the font to be deleted, press the [Del] key and confirm. Zack - the writing is gone.
Another note: After installing new fonts, you should restart the application in which you want to use the fonts. This ensures that all fonts are correctly recognized.
