Trout: These calories are in the fish
The calories in a trout depend on the type of preparation. This is important if you keep an eye on your calories and don't want to experience any unwanted surprises. We show you how different the value can be.
Trout: calories by method of preparation
100 g of raw trout have 105 kcal, which is, for example, significantly less than wild salmon (142 kcal) or eel (188 kcal). No wonder that trout are very popular as diet fish, which are fried, smoked or blue and don't hit the hip too much. The individual values can be found in the following list:
- Blue trout : A blue-boiled trout does not have as many calories as it is only poached briefly. Here you get 118 kcal per 100 g.
- Smoked : Smoked trout are only a little "heavier" than raw, since the fish do not have a high fat content, such as wild salmon. Here you have to count on 120 kcal per 100 g.
- Fried : With fried trout, you have to expect a little more calories. The reason for this is the use of cooking oil. This means that the calorie content varies between 170 and 185 kcal per 100 g.
- Grilled : A grilled trout lies in the middle field with 135 to 140 kcal. It also depends on whether you also use cooking oil.
- Also consider the calories of the other ingredients and side dishes that you prepare with the trout. These can add a fair amount of calories again.
Before you can prepare the trout, you must first gut it. In the next article, we will show you how to properly gut fish.
