Create form with Word - Here's how
Creating a form with Word is not a big art and can be done quite quickly. You can either create a form yourself or use finished templates. We present both options to you.
Word form: The quick variant
The easiest way to do this is to use a table:
- For example, if you want to create a cleaning plan form for your flat share, first consider how many columns and rows you need.
- Then first select the "Insert" tab in Word 2010.
- Click on the table symbol in the quick start bar.
- Then specify how many columns and rows you want to insert and insert the table into your Word document.
- Now name the rows or columns, for example, "Date", "Room", "Who" and "Done". You can later put crosses and ticks in the empty fields or enter a name.
Medium difficulty: Microsoft form templates
Alternatively, Microsoft also offers you a large number of ready-made forms for a wide variety of occasions:
- The form templates are available from Word Version 2003 to Word 2013.
- You will find templates especially for professional matters, but also for schools, universities or the private sector. Of course, you can also adapt all Word templates to your requirements.
- Examples: You will discover form templates for evaluations, order forms, travel expense reports, analyzes, surveys, invoices, telephone notes and much more.
For professionals: Create a Word form with form fields
If the variant with the table is too simple for you and the Microsoft form templates don't suit you, you can also create your own form with form fields in Word:
- Preliminary work: First you have to activate the so-called "pre-version tools" under the "development tools".
- You will then find the text fields for your Word form under the "ActiveX controls".
- All you have to do now is insert the fields into your document, along with the rest of the text.
- We explain the exact procedure on the next page.
