Create forum for free - how it works
A forum can be created quickly and free of charge on the Internet. In this tip, we will introduce you to several free hosting sites and explain how it works.
Create a free forum with "Forumprofi"
At Forumprofi you create a free forum. You can choose from all common forum software available free of charge:
- Register on the "Forumprofi" page and wait for the confirmation email.
- Click on the link in the email.
- Select the forum software you want. By clicking on "Compare forum types" you will get an overview including links to demo forums that run with the respective software. "WBBLite" is used in this manual because it is relatively easy to set up and use.
- Enter some information about your forum such as name and URL. You will use the admin username and password to log in to the forum later.
- Now wait a moment for the forum to be created. You will receive a link to the forum, where you can then make further settings.
Create a free forum with "Xobor"
On "Xobor" you also create a free forum. Again, it is up to you whether you use your own or a pre-programmed software from Xobor. The free support also helps you to design your forum according to your wishes.
- To create a forum, click on "Create your forum" on the Xobor homepage.
- Now you will be asked to register. At the same time, you can already choose a domain. For example: " Musterdomain.xobor.de ".
Host a free forum at "BBoard"
You also create a free forum on BBoard, but only the "phpBB" software is used there. It is very extensive and can be adapted and expanded almost as desired. But it is also a bit more complicated to use.
- To create a forum, click on "Register now for free" on the BBoard homepage.
- Choose between phpBB2 and phpBB3 and follow the instructions on the website. The phpBB3 forum is not hosted on BBoard, but on iphpBB3.com.
All hosting sites offer you a subdomain of the form "Forenname.Hostingseite.de".
- The pages presented here are financed by advertising on your forum. However, you can buy advertising freedom for around two to three euros per month.
- No matter where you create your forum, the registration process on the hosting page can be set very little. When your forum has been created, log in with the given access data and open the administration area. Where it is located depends on the forum software.
- With WBBLite, for example, the link to the admin area is at the top of the page. There you can customize your forum according to your wishes.
