Activate photo slideshow on the iPad lockscreen - how it works
If the iPad lockscreen is too boring for you, you can spice it up with a photo slideshow. We'll show you where to find the practical feature.
Activate photo slideshow on the iPad lock screen
Up to iOS 7, you can turn your iPad into a digital photo frame with just a tap:
- To do this, tap the photo icon next to the slider in the lockscreen (see image).
- A slide show with all images that you have saved on your device will now start.
- You can customize your slideshow beforehand in the Settings app: To do this, set the desired display time per photo in the "Photos & Camera" area and select the desired slideshow mode.
Enable photo slideshow in iOS 7
In iOS 7, Apple unfortunately removed the chic feature. You can therefore no longer start the slideshow on the lockscreen. But it still works via the photo app:
- Open the Photos app and select any image.
- Tap the square with the arrow at the bottom left (see photo) and select "Slideshow".
- Now you can add music to your slideshow and determine the animation during the transitions. Then activate the slide show with "Start presentation".
As a small consolation for the lost slideshow option, Apple has hidden many other functions in iOS 7.
