When you take photos with your iPhone, not every picture becomes a brilliant snapshot. With our tips you get the most out of your iPhone camera.
1. iPhone tip: Use high resolution
- For the best possible results, you should use the highest possible resolution for your model when taking pictures with the iPhone.
- The higher the resolution, the more storage space your recordings need. Therefore, make sure that there is always enough free space on your device. You should therefore transfer your photos to your PC regularly.
2. Use Live Photos
- With the "Live Photos" function, you can record a small video while taking photos. You capture the moment like in a short GIF.
- As of iOS 11, you can determine which image from the live photo sequence is shown in the photos display. To do this, go to the Life Photo. Open the edit mode. Select the photo you want. Activate it by clicking on "Key photo".
3. Use HDR mode correctly
- With HDR recordings, you can take better pictures with a particularly high contrast. But HDR recordings are not suitable in every situation, for example with moving subjects.
- Use your iPhone's HDR function for high-contrast subjects and in dark surroundings for better results.
4. Focus and focus
- You should always focus on the object you want to photograph primarily.
- As a rule, the iPhone automatically recognizes faces and otherwise focuses on the center of the picture. However, this can be adjusted manually at the touch of a finger.
5. Zooming with clip-on lenses
- There is the possibility to zoom in on subjects with a clip-on lens. This gives you a good optical solution.
- The digital zoom with the finger usually does not offer the best image quality.
6. Use sequence recording on the iPhone
- Better take a few more pictures - then there is sure to be a suitable snapshot.
- It's easy with the iPhone: press the shutter button on the display for a few seconds. The smartphone takes many pictures in a row and you can then choose the best one.
7. Use rule of thirds with digital grid
- You can activate the so-called "grid" via "Settings"> "Camera". These are thin auxiliary lines that appear on the display.
- The grid makes it easier to adhere to the rule of thirds when taking pictures. So you can take more appealing pictures.
- The grid has been equipped with a spirit level since iOS 11. A display appears in the middle of the nine rectangles. There you will see two crosshairs. If the picture is aligned, both crosses lie on top of each other.
