Foxit Reader: Blacken words - how it works
To protect your privacy, you should black out sensitive data and words in PDFs. Unfortunately, there is no function for this in the free Foxit Reader. We'll tell you a little detour.
Privacy: Black out sensitive words in Foxit Reader
Note: If you blacken an area, the text underneath remains and can simply be copied into another document and thus read. If you do not print the document, you should rather blacken the document with Paint.
- Start Foxit Reader and open your PDF document.
- Click on the "Comment" tab.
- Under "Text Markup", select "Highlight".
- Now switch to the "Highlighting Tools" or "Format" tab.
- Here you set the color black under "Format" and "Line color".
- Then highlight the text you want to blacken.
You can choose to send the edited file by email. You should first shrink the PDF file.
