Receive Freenet TV via satellite: Here's how
In the meantime you can receive Freenet TV not only via DVB-T2 but also via satellite. We show you in this practical tip how this works and what you need for it.
Instructions: Receive Freenet TV via satellite
With Freenet TV you receive the public channels as well as numerous private channels in HD quality. In addition to ARD and ZDF, this also includes Pro7, Sat1, RTL, Sport 1, EuroSport, DMAX and the Disney Channel.
- If you already have a satellite dish set up, it is already aligned with the Astra 19.2 East satellite. However, the satellite dish alone is not enough.
- You also need a satellite receiver or a DVB-S2-compatible television with CI + slot. The TV module from freenet TV comes into the receiver or CI + slot.
- It is a small chip card that enables TV reception. If you are already using the card to receive DVB-T2 HD, you can use the same card.
- Alternatively, you can use a satellite receiver that has already integrated the module. This is currently only possible with the DIGIT S4 freenet TV from TechniSat.
Receive Freenet TV via satellite: costs and payment
- All new Freenet TV customers use the service completely free of charge in the first three months. You pay 5.75 euros for each additional month.
- To continue to watch the TV channels in HD after the three months have passed, you must register online on Freenet.tv.
- The required chip card (smart card) is available online from Freenet or in the electronics market. There you will also receive credit cards for 12 months if you do not want to withdraw from your account monthly.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to optimally align your satellite dish.
