As pleasant as the Freestyle Libre blood glucose meter is, it has its price. The Freestyle Libre customer service will help you by email or via the free hotline.

• The starter package already includes everything you need to read the blood sugar level: two sensors and a reader. It costs around 170 euros and is enough for four weeks.
• You can buy a single sensor for 60 euros and it lasts exactly 14 days. Then you should replace it.
• The reader costs 60 euros and is designed for long-term use. Should you lose yours, however, you will receive a replacement without any problems.

This is how blood sugar measurement works with Freestyle Libre

Your blood sugar level is automatically measured and saved with the Freestyle Libre blood glucose meter. The special system is designed not to restrict you in everyday life.

• All you need is a sensor that you attach to the upper arm. Use a special applicator to push it under the skin about 5 millimeters, where it will then stick. After about 60 minutes you can take the first measurement.
• The meter registers your blood sugar value every 15 minutes and stores the corresponding values ​​for eight hours. To read this data, hold the reader to the sensor. To keep an eye on your blood sugar level, you should do this at least every seven hours.
• With a quick glance at the display, you can immediately see how your blood sugar level has developed over the past eight hours. You can also call up various analyzes. Your data remains on the reader for 90 days so that you can always show it when you visit a doctor.
• Alternatively, you can use a suitable smartphone to read out the blood sugar values ​​using the Freestyle Libre app. The app is available free of charge for iOS and Android.
