Add foreign game to Steam library - does it work?
Not only can you manage games purchased in Steam, you can also add third-party games to the library. We show you how it works!
Steam: Add another game to the library
- Open Steam and click on "Games" in the menu bar. At the bottom you will find the "Add non-Steam game to my library" option.
- A list of executable files appears on your computer. Place a checkmark to the left of the desired games and then click on "Add selected programs".
- If you can't find the game, click the "Browse" button below the list. Navigate to the file that normally runs the game. Important: Be sure to select the exe file from the program folder and not the shortcut of the game.
- The program now appears ticked off in the list and you only have to import it into your library with "Add selected programs".
Imported games are unfortunately not shown in your profile. If you want to compete with your friends here as well, you have to buy the game again on Steam. With the Humble Bundle you always get the games at bargain prices.
