Connect Fritzbox 7490 without splitter - how it works
You can also connect your Fritzbox 7490 without a splitter, at least in some cases. We'll show you step by step exactly how to do this.
Connect Fritzbox 7490 without splitter - so it'll work
If you have an ISDN connection and want to use DSL, you need a so-called splitter. A splitter is also required for DSL with a classic telephone connection. Only the new IP-based DSL connections do not require an additional splitter. DSL only works here if you omit the splitter.
- First connect the Fritzbox to the DSL socket using a DSL cable and connect it to the power supply.
- Then connect the router to a PC using a LAN cable and wait until the router is fully switched on.
- Open the browser on the PC and enter "//fritz.box" in the address bar.
- In the first step you have to assign a password for the user interface for security reasons. Then click on "Assistants" on the left and then "Set up Internet access".
- Select your respective provider from the list and enter the respective access data you received from them.
- Then activate the "Check Internet connection after saving" option and confirm with "Next".
- If the information is correct and an Internet connection is possible, the wizard is complete and you can now surf the Internet.
