Most providers assign so-called branding to the FritzBox. Find out here how to remove it and use all the functions of the FritzBox.
Preparation: assign a fixed IP to Windows
Branding means that you can only access the functions of the FritzBox that your Internet provider unlocks for you. Most Internet providers prohibit you from removing the branding in the terms and conditions. In the worst case, you will not receive any updates, will have to pay a fee or will receive a new device. In many cases, however, the process is tacitly accepted so as not to annoy customers.
- Before you get started, open the "Control Panel" on your PC.
- Then switch to the "Network and Sharing Center".
- Then click on "Change adapter settings" and right-click on your LAN adapter. Select "Properties".
- Under "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)" click again on "Properties" and select "Use the following IP address".
- Enter the IP address "192.168.178.2" there.
- Save these changes and continue with the steps below.

- To make changes in the system, enter the "debug bin" command and confirm with [Enter].
- To remove the branding of the router, enter "quote SETENV firmware_version avm". Confirm this command with [Enter].
- If this does not work, enter the following commands one after the other: "qoute GETENV provider", "quote UNSETENV provider", "quote SETENV firmware_version avm", "quote reboot".
- After you have successfully executed the commands, you can exit the tool with "bye" and [Enter].
- To load the original system onto the FritzBox, you must finally reset the FritzBox to the factory settings.
- If the branding is still there, try again after the router reset.
