Fritzbox: Set up Dyndns
With DynDns you can allow permanent remote access to your network. You can also set up a Dyndns service in the Fritzbox.
Create DynDns address
First you need a DynDns address. If you already have one, you can skip this section.
- The best known service for dynamic DNS is dyndns.org. However, this is now chargeable. In this practical tip we use the free service of noip.com.
- Open the noip.com registration page.
- Now enter a user name, a password and your email address. Now you can choose a host name and a domain for your DynDns. Deselect the checkmark at the bottom of the website and click on the "Sign Up" button.
- You will now receive an email with a confirmation link that you must open.
- You can now make further configurations on your DynDns in the settings, but this is not absolutely necessary.
Set up DynDns in the Fritzbox
If you have now created a DynDns, you can integrate it into the Fritzbox.
- Open the fritz.box user interface (//fritz.box/) and enter your password.
- Select the item "Internet" in the menu on the left and the "Shares" below.
- Then click the Dynamic DNS tab above.
- Now check the "Use Dynamic DNS" box (see picture).
- Now you can select "No-IP.com" in the list and enter your domain name and the associated user name with password below.
- If you then click the "Take over" button, your Fritzbox can always be reached via the specified host name.
