Fritzbox hangs up - it may be because of it
If your Fritzbox suddenly hangs up, it may be due to incorrect wiring. This practical tip contains more information on how to fix the error.
Fritzbox hangs up - you can do that
Below we tell you what you can do if your Fritzbox router keeps hanging up:
- First, make sure that all cables on the router are connected correctly and that the connections are properly seated.
- The cables must not be defective or broken. If this is the case, you should replace the affected cable as soon as possible.
- As a test, you should use a different label from the telephone socket to the Fritzbox in order to be able to further isolate the error.
- There may also be an update for your Fritzbox. To do this, first open the Fritzbox user interface. Then click on "Update" or on "Firmware update" in the "System" menu.
- You can also increase the interference immunity to prevent the connection from being interrupted briefly. To do this, go to "Internet"> "DSL Information"> "Interference Immunity". There you have to set the "Target signal-to-noise ratio" setting in "Receive direction" one step towards "Maximum stability". Save with "Apply".
- If you have another router at hand, you should connect it to your DSL connection. If this does not hang, there is a defect in the Fritzbox.
- If you can't fix the problem with these tips, contact your provider.
Tip: Optimize the Fritzbox radio channel
Alternatively, you can also reset the Fritzbox.
