With your FritzBox and a USB hard drive you can set up your own network storage. We'll show you how it's done.
Preparations: Use hard disk as NAS with FritzBox
Note: So that the FritzBox can work with the hard disk, it must be formatted in NTFS, FAT / FAT32 or EXT2 format.
- Open the user interface of the FritzBox and log in with your password.
- Scroll all the way down and make sure the view is set to "Advanced" rather than "Standard".
- Go to the "Home Network" category on the left and select the "USB Remote Connection" tab under "USB Devices".
- Deactivate the option "USB remote connection active" and confirm the process with the "Apply" button. You can only use the hard drive as network storage by deactivating the remote connection.
