Fritzbox: Switch off WiFi time-controlled
With the FritzBox you can switch your WLAN on and off in a time-controlled manner. For example, your WLAN will automatically deactivate at certain times at night. We show you how to activate the practical feature.
Set up the WLAN timer of the FritzBox - how it works
Your radio network should not always be active. For example, if you are away from work or at home on weekends, you can switch off your WiFi. For this, the FritzBox contains a function with which you can create your own schedule:
- To do this, open the FritzBox configuration interface by typing "fritz.box" into your address bar in your browser.
- Then click on "WLAN" on the left and then on the "Timer" sub-item.
- Now you can decide whether you want to always switch your WLAN according to the same scheme or differently every day.
- Mark the individual points, depending on when you want to deactivate your WLAN. If your circuit remains the same every day, simply enter the time period in which the WLAN should be switched off.
- If you want to make your plan more individual, activate the button next to "Switch WLAN on schedule". A plan now appears from Monday to Sunday. Blue means that the WLAN is active during this time, white means inactive.
- To color an area blue, drag the cursor over a white area with the left mouse button pressed. To color a surface accordingly, do the same over a blue section (see picture).
Most routers use 2.4 GHz. We'll show you how to get more out of your WiFi with a faster channel.
