Set up FTP server at FritzBox - how it works
An FTP server at FritzBox serves as network storage for your data. You can set this up fairly easily and then access your data anywhere and anytime via the Internet.
Setting up an FTP server at FritzBox - this is how you proceed
- Open the configuration settings of your FritzBox.
- Go to "Contents" and under Home Network, Storage (NAS) to "Activations".
- Now mark the item "Free up memory for users from the Internet".
- Then open "Select directory".
- Now determine the directories you want to share.
- Now go to "OK" and "Apply".

Anyone who knows your DynDNS Internet address can now access your data. Therefore, you must secure the NAS device with a password.
- Click on "Security".
- Now enter a secure password. In this article you can read what exactly makes a secure password.
- Below, mark whether users can "read" or "read and write" from the Internet on the NAS device.
- Finally click on "Apply".
