Pin the Control Panel functions to the taskbar
In Windows 7 you can pin all functions of the control panel to the taskbar. So you always have the most important system settings ready. We show you how to do this.
Pin the control panel to the Windows taskbar
You can pin the Windows Control Panel to the taskbar like any other program. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Enter the "Control Panel" command in the Windows search.
- Then click with the right mouse button on the first entry and select the item [Pin to taskbar] (see screenshot).
- The control panel will then appear in your task bar. To change the order of the icons, all you have to do is hold down the icon and move it.
Pin individual control panel functions to the taskbar
With a little trick you can also access individual system functions directly from the taskbar:
- Start the control panel and select the system function to be attached - for example "Windows Update".
- Right-click the Control Panel on the taskbar. In the "Recently used" area you will find the function you have just selected.
- Then click on the pin to permanently fix the function. You can repeat these steps with every system function.
The Windows taskbar can be further customized. We show you how to change the symbols in the system tray here.
